The Goodwell 12-pack, six colours 🧽
The Goodwell 12-pack: plush split-fibre microfiber cloths — two each of charcoal, navy, teal, sage, blush and yellow, so you can keep the bathroom cloth away from the one you use on glass. Dense enough to hold water and lift grease, fine enough to leave a window without streaks. Machine washable and made to go back in the drawer, not the bin.
PUT DOWN THE PAPER TOWEL
A paper towel does two things badly. It smears grease around instead of lifting it, and it leaves lint on every piece of glass you touch. Then it goes in the bin, and you buy more.
Microfiber works differently. The fibre is split into strands many times finer than a human hair, and the sheer amount of surface area that creates is what does the work — it drags dust and grease into the weave and holds them there instead of pushing them along the surface. Damp with plain water, that's usually enough. No spray, no chemical film left behind for dust to stick to tomorrow.
Then you rinse it, wash it, and use it again.

GLASS, MIRRORS AND SHOWER SCREENS
This is where microfiber earns its reputation. Wipe with a damp cloth, then go over it with a dry one — no spray, no newspaper, no streaks left behind when the light hits it at the wrong angle.
It is also the job paper towels are worst at, because the lint they leave only shows up on glass.
SCREENS AND EVERYTHING WITH A LENS
Monitors, laptops, TVs, phones, glasses, camera lenses. Use it dry or barely damp — never soaking, and never with solvent-based cleaner on a coated screen.
The weave is soft enough that it lifts fingerprints without the fine scratching you get from a tissue or a shirt hem.
THE CAR — PAINT, GLASS AND DASH
Buff the paint dry after a wash, clear the inside of the windscreen, take the dust off the dash. Keep one colour for the exterior and a different one for the interior, and keep them both away from the wheels.
Rinse grit out thoroughly before it goes anywhere near paint again — grit trapped in a cloth is what scratches, not the cloth itself.
KITCHEN, WORKTOPS AND SPILLS
Worktops, hobs, splashbacks, the front of the fridge. A damp cloth clears everyday grease on its own; for baked-on cooking splatter add a little washing-up liquid and give it a moment to soften.
Because it holds several times its own weight in water, one cloth handles a spill that would take a fistful of paper.
SIX COLOURS, SO NOTHING GETS CROSS-CONTAMINATED
Twelve Goodwell cloths, two each in six colours. That is not decoration — it is the whole reason a colour-coded set beats a bag of identical rags. Professional cleaners have worked this way for years.
- Charcoal — the dirty jobs: hobs, grills, the bin lid
- Navy — screens, monitors, glasses and lenses
- Teal — glass, mirrors and shower screens
- Sage — kitchen worktops and the fridge
- Blush — bathroom surfaces and taps
- Yellow — dusting, shelves and skirting
Two of each means one is always in the wash and one is always in the drawer. Wash them together, warm, without fabric softener — softener coats the fibres and is the single fastest way to ruin a microfiber cloth.
GET THE GOODWELL 12-PACK
Water, wipe, wash. That's the routine.

STEP #1 — DAMPEN
Plain water, then wring it out properly. Damp, not dripping — a soaking cloth pushes dirt around instead of picking it up.

STEP #2 — WIPE
Work in one direction rather than circles, and fold the cloth into quarters so you always have a clean face to turn to. On glass, follow with a dry cloth.

STEP #3 — WASH AND REUSE
Rinse it out as you go, then machine wash warm with no fabric softener and no bleach. Air dry or tumble low, and it goes back in the drawer ready for next time.
